Upon arriving in St. Louis, we enjoy a driving tour of beautiful Lafayette Square, situated around Lafayette Park, the oldest park west of the Mississippi. Then, we see St. Louis’ Forest Park, home to several of St. Louis’ cultural institutions like the zoo and Art Museum. Then, we pay a brief visit to the Basilica of St. Louis to view some of the astounding 83,000 square feet of mosaics. After lunch at Sappington Barn, we visit Walter Knoll’s Wholesale Florist to observe the floral designers at work, and to purchase holiday plants, decor and gifts. This is a favorite stop! In downtown Maplewood, we visit several exciting shops, including Penzeys Spices, Vom Fass gourmet gifts, Great Harvest Bread Company, and Kakao Chocolate.
