Visit Dad’s Cookies to sample and purchase their famous scotch oatmeal (and other) cookies. Stop by Merb’s Candies to sample and purchase some of their heavenly hash or other delicious fresh-made candies. Enjoy an included brat, salsicca, hot dog or three soft pretzels, and a soft drink at a St. Louis favorite, Gus’s Pretzels, where we will watch the soft pretzels being made. Next, we take a brief break from food treats and enjoy a drive through one of St. Louis’ most beautiful parks and a National Historic Landmark: Tower Grove Park. Next, enjoy an included single flavor small concrete at Route 66’s most famous custard stand, Ted Drewes. Also on Route 66, the town of Maplewood offers more tasty treasures. Purchase spices from all over the world at Penzey’s Spices. Then stroll down the street to Vom Fass, where oils, vinegars and liqueurs are sold from barrel taps. Kakao Chocolates, The Book House, a candle shop, a leather shop and Great Harvest Bread welcome us also.
